“Good, Better the Best Car Mechanic” Team Shines at International Skills Competition in Vilnius

From May 28 to 30, 2025, Vilnius Car Mechanic and Business School hosted the exciting international vocational skills competition, “European Car Mechanic Junior 2025”.  Among the enthusiastic participants was our own “Good, Better the Best Car Mechanic” project team, who took part in both the competition and the surrounding cultural program.

A European-Level Professional Challenge

This year’s competition brought together 18 participants from 9 European countries: France, Austria, the Czech Republic, North Macedonia, Turkey, Poland, Estonia, and Lithuania. The contestants faced serious challenges:

• A 100-question theory test that assessed their automotive knowledge;
• 9 hands-on practical tasks requiring precision, speed, and professional skill.

The event opened with a spectacular motorcycle parade, featuring the flags of all participating countries and the ceremonial raising of the competition flag—an unforgettable moment full of emotion and anticipation.

Beyond Competition – A Cultural Experience

In addition to technical challenges, participants had the chance to explore the historic Old Town of Vilnius, taste traditional Lithuanian cuisine, and immerse themselves in the city’s rich cultural heritage. These experiences provided a valuable opportunity to connect across borders and broaden horizons beyond the workshop.

A Festive Finish and a Look Ahead

After three intensive days, the competition concluded with a festive closing ceremony, where participants received awards and congratulations from school partners and representatives of the Vilnius District Municipality. The atmosphere was warm and celebratory, with heartfelt goodbyes and a shared excitement for the future.

The Project team will meet live next year in Eggenburg, Austria – 2026, where bestcarmechanic.eu tasks will be used for the first time for international skills mastery competition!
